If you own a cat (or a few…), you probably have some scars all over your body from all the scratching your beloved cat gave you as gifts. What you need to do is to train your cat from a very young age that scratching is something he should do only on the scratching post. Cats, like humans, are different from one another, and you may find it difficult to train your cat. What I ask of you, is to read this post carefully before you give up on training and decide to declaw your cat.

Anatomy:
It is believed that the long-haired Persian cat as we know today is actually one of the mutations of the Felis Libyca, a short-haired cat that can still be found in Asia and Africa, and that the mutation developed due to the adaptation of the Felis Libyca to the high and cold plateaus of Persia (also known as Iran). He was brought to Europe in 16th century, maybe even earlier.
The Sphynx cat is a very intelligent, curious and energetic cat, and prefer humans attention. They also show a lot of affection, especially to their owners, although they get along great with cats and even with dogs.
The Ragdoll cat is a very calm cat with very relaxed temperament, and is known by his affection to humans, more than other cats breeds. He enjoys humans companionship and likes to play with children, and is very careful not to expose his claws or his teeth while playing. A Ragdoll cat is also very friendly toward other animals, but because of his non-defensive nature, he should never be allowed to go outdoors.
